Isn't it nice?
Call me silly, but I think I just may be the luckiest girl alive.

And boy, was it a feast! All that food was for only the two of us, haha! But it was so delicious! We bought a "Tofurkey Feast", which was absolutely amazing and out of this world. We're not entirely convinced that it isn't really truly turkey.... tasted just like the real thing! Plus it was stuffed with stuffing and wild rice...Mmm-mmm! I made garlic mashed potatoes (with soy milk and vegan sour cream) and vegan squash casserole...... man. That was probably my favorite part. I always loved my mom's squash casserole, but its definitely not vegan, so I changed the recipe a bit and voila! It turned out amazing. My mom even said she liked it better than hers! Donn loved it, which of course made me happy. We also had cranberry sauce (from a can, but still delish!) and apple-cranberry potato dumplings (which came with the Tofurkey Feast, and were awesome!). It was a great meal, with great company. Oh, and I also made my vegan pumpkin pie, which Donn also loved. He even picked up some "vegan whipped topping", which translates to vegan whipped cream. No grocery stores around here sell that stuff, so I was so excited that he brought me some! He's so lucky to have a Whole Foods in Annapolis! *jealous*
So, my family left early this morning to go to Norfolk to spend the holiday with my Nanny and my Aunt's family. I wish I could have gone, but I have to be at work at 5 a.m. tomorrow. Gotta love working retail. Bleh. And really, its a good thing I didn't go, because I have TONS of school work to do before Monday. Its not going to be pretty, but its got to be done. I'm just so looking forward to the end of the semester (2 more weeks!!!) so I'll have some days off. I'm definitely planning on hightailing it out of here and going to Annapolis for a few days! ♥
I hope everyone got to enjoy the holiday with those that they love, and had their fill of mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, and all the turkey...or tofurkey... their hearts could desire!
Happy Thanksgiving!
And, because the sun has already completely set, and I therefore have no light with which to take pretty pictures for you today, I leave you with a 4-year old picture of my dog. Because, really, who doesn't like puppies? Aww!
Oh, what a beautiful day! I can't even express how excited/relieved/happy/proud/overwhelmed I am by yesterday's election. What an amazing event, perhaps the most historic turning point for our nation of my generation. I couldn't be more pleased.
I wish I could have been out and about last night... I watched most of the election on tv last night (until I fell asleep right before 11:00! I missed the big announcement! I was so mad at myself!) and the excitement in the air was almost palpable. I had butterflies in my stomach all day yesterday, but they were the good, excited kind. The fact that I had like 4 cups of coffee throughout the day yesterday may or may not have contributed to thoes butterflies....
This week is turning out to be really great so far - this past Sunday I went to a concert with Lani and her bro Don... awesome, as always. I baked a vegan pineapple upsidedown cake for Don, which was a big hit, yay.
A few of my classes have been cancelled this week for no reason at all, except to sort-of give us students some free time to vote/celebrate the outcome of the election, which is nice. I only have 1 class today, and the only reason I have to go is to hand in a paper....and then we're allowed to leave. Kind of sucks that I have to drive 1/2 hour to hand in a paper, but...maybe I'll get some Starbucks before I go home. hehe.
I also have a few projects up my sleeve right now. They're actually going to be Christmas presents, so I unfortunately can't share them right now, but I might give a few little sneak peeks soon....
Ok, I'm really hungry and I'm starting to ramble, so I think that's it for now. Have super-lovely days!
